Horrible casting, Blake’s way too old and tired for the character, Ryle was nowhere near as charming and sweet as in the book, which was key in understanding her confused feelings, they changed almost everything in the book, they totally skipped all the feeling building moments and parts of the story. The delivery of the most impactful parts of the story was dry and unemotional and just flat. Disappointing to diminish such an amazing book to this flat, dry superficial rendition. No wonder Blake’s been so tone deaf when talking about the movie, there seemed to be no real connection to the character and story she was playing.
