Ruby Gillman was a pretty good movie. I enjoyed the underwater scenes, and fighting scenes. The story was very cute and enjoyable. Sure this movie wasn’t as spectacular as Puss in Boots 2 and The Bad Guys, but Dreamworks did an amazing job with introducing their very first female empowerment movie with Ruby. I hope they do more female stories with their upcoming movies. The only reason why I gave this 4 stars (8/10) because I feel like the movie needed a bit of a better story, some parts were slow and such. And it needed a bit more to it. I feel like they also needed a bit more underwater scenes to make the animation feel more “beautiful,” too. Let’s not forget, we could have seen more of the kracken ocean world a little more. I hope this movie becomes a series one day and maybe it will answer all our unanswered questions. Overall, this movie was good. Highly recommend.
