The word box office bomb is only correct in the context of it making money. Not in its failure to entertain. This film was so much fun. I've watched it 3 times over the past 10 years and find it enjoyable each time. The plot is fascinating and well executed. The acting is completely in line for the type of movie this is. It's hard to believe the origins of this story were conceived in 1917. Over 100 years ago. Let that sink in.
