The Victorian era Penny Dreadful was pretty good. I had issues with it, but thought the show was mostly well done. City of Angels is a convoluted mess. The acting is terrible. However, I do not fault the actors for the trash script they've been given. It's boring and predictable. At times the acting is awkward perhaps due to a lack of chemistry in casting. I could not find a thread of any character to care about. I won't be watching anymore after the third episode. I cannot wait for new episodes of The Alienist, The Terror, and The Haunting of Hill House. Don't waste your time on City of Angels. It's not worth falling asleep and waking up on the sofa with a sore neck.
