This is in my must rewatch list, even if I have already watched it, will watch it again. This is perfectly scripted, all the good and all the bad are entwined expertly This is a slow paced series but the pacing is perfect as you startling find yourself attached the to fragile live the 2 leads are so desperately trying to maintain against all the negative they’re up against. I was so much into Bo Gums portrayal the 1st time but my 2nd watch changed my opinion completely. Song Hye Kyo, I admit to having a very large soft spot for her, stunning beautiful and with captivating sultriness and a voice I could listen to forever. Her portrayal of a woman who has never known happiness to the slow realisation that she had found it in Bo Gum is both heartrendingly sad and warming to the soul at the same time. Unusually all the side stories held up on their own mainly due to the great acting of the supporting roles. It also has a good epilogue to show you how their life is after some time has past, this is always a big win for me. Reconciling in the last minute never gives me the closure I need, but we get that here and it’s great! This is just a mesmerising love story up there with others like She Would Never Know, One Spring Night and Tell Me That You Live Me.

Hmm I love Korean period dramas. Maybe I was spoilt by Under the Queens Umbrella, Bloody Hearts, I’m still trying to figure out how all the good people being so clueless and stagnant won in this fight, they were so frustrating poor I cheered for their demise at on point out of frustration. I feel for the actor sometimes when they’re given such poor dialogue to work with. Look if you want to see 19 episodes of the bad guys dominating with intelligence and slyness only to somehow lose to the slow dimwitted good guys than this is for you!
