Though Rosamund Pike's acting was beyond excellent, and the rest of the cast as well, this movie is shockingly unsettling, incensing the audience with the very provocative and infuriating crime of robbing the elderly via fraud- by way of guardianship, with absolutely no satisfying ending or sense of justice and fairness. After the beginning part of the film that morally enrages the audience, The movie continues to agonize its audience with the chosen victim being trapped and then further abused, while the carrot of justice and punishment is constantly dangled, unsatisfyingly ever out-of-reach. Unrealistic get-away scenes, a morally infuriating abuse of the judicial & guardianship system (which also is left unchecked, unsatisfyingly, during the entire movie) to the terrible judge with whom the audience hoped to actually see justice run its course with-to no apparent avail, and unfruitful attempts to counter whom only be called the villain in this movie, Rosamund Pike's character, all run this movie, terribly and sadly, into the ground. Riddled with sections where it may seem that relief, and finally justice, will be delivered, only to unrealistically slip away from grasp. It is honestly only the supremely well acting from Rosamund Pike, and all the rest of the cast, that even make this movie one that everyone starte to watch, and continues to watch- though I'm absolutely, arguably, sure tons of folks did NOT care to finish watching this movie. Only watch if you are a real fan of any of the main characters, as the acting is the only great pat of this film! Otherwise, words that come to mind are: unsatisying, morally incensing, and just not right. Watch if you'd like to see why other folks are unhappy and unsatisfied with film, because besides the acting, unfortunately, there isn't much to applaude here.
