It started promising but in its entirety it’s awful. You’ll hate the characters and author by the end and the time you wasted reading it. The problem is it is written in the first person with the characters walking you through present time situations, feelings, emotions. *SPOILER ALERT* Then in the last part of the book, the main character completly contradicts everything in the first part. And it’s not done in a “leaving things out so you can reread and catch all the fun details” kind of way. It’s done with the main character completely lying to you, which makes you realize the entire 200+ pages of character development was inaccurate. Also, there are parts of the book too devoted to detail for no particular reason (such as Adam in the forest) and then plot lines deserving of more detail (court case, 10+ years after it) are completely left out. Dialogue between characters is also predictable and trite.
