First the good news, the film has first rate cinematography and production quality. The locations are stunning and unfortunately the only redeeming quality of this opus. The ongoing story lines competing for attention lack context. Emotional and apparently important plot developments happen out of nowhere, leaving the viewer shaking your head wondering if I missed something. The answer is no, you haven't missed something, it's just a ham fisted edit on a film that probably was running 6 hours and stuff just had to go, damn the consequences....

That first 20 minutes I'll never get back, obvious total waste of time....

I was in northern Alabama on a golf trip,with some friends. Had to stop and pay homage to Muscle Shoals Recording Studio, while we were there. I spotted this film entirely by accident on Amazon Prime. I was familiar with some of the history of the area and the "Muscle Shoals Sound" but this film really puts into perspective what an influencial and dynamic place and people it is. The narrative throughout with Rick Hall and the muscians is fascinating and compelling, a must see for anyone interested in American music...

I was prepared to hate this film but I have to say it absolutely knocked me out. The quality of the production and music adaptation was excellent. I think something upbeat with a positive message is just what I needed, if not all of us, right about now...

I tried hard to enjoy this . It has all the right elements, you'd think, but fails miserably, in the most obvious way. There is nobody and not any one story line that compels you to watch. Just a lot of self serving dialogue and disconnected cinematic shots because they can...Lost me after two episodes, that could have easily have been one.

Not a compelling or even coherent story line. The contrived presence of Timothy Olyphants real life daughter is no help, not to mention her annoying squeaky voice. Very disappointing reboot...

I would have turned this movie off much earlier if my wife wasn't watching it with me. We both like George Clooney and Julia Robert's but both came to the same conclusion. The only reason they made it was to vacation in Bali...terrible movie
