This movie was overall well done and it was enjoyable to watch. There were a few things I didn't like though (spoilers): 1. The tension and conflict between Michael and his friend Adolf were built up so well throughout the middle of the movie, and then it just ends anti-climatically with a mini-dialogue with Adolf just saying that he was salty about Michael passing him at something. 2. Rachel's character is super bland and does nothing for the movie. It was crazy because all of the other characters in the movie were amazingly executed. But for Rachel, we don't learn anything about her. She pretty much exists solely for being Michael's girl in the movie. Michael magically just falls in love with her boring personality but it has no relevance to the plot. 3. Most of the moves that Michael was doing for skating were too basic. I'm not a skater, but I know someone would have to work know crazier moves than whatever Michael was doing in order to gain attention and find connections with people.

This movie was watchable (probably cause I was bored on a 15-hour flight), but it was definitely not as good as I was expecting it to be. It's one of those movies that had great potential (in its plot) but failed to execute it properly. 1. They placed way too much emphasis on Georgia's pregnancy and the couple. We get little information about the androids themselves even though they're a major part of the plot. 2. Lacks emotional connection. The movie does a poor job of creating the vibe that we are literally in a worldwide apocalypse. Everything feels like a local apocalypse. It also does a poor job of creating a struggle for survival. It just seemed like the characters were always just chilling when they were walking through the woods. 3. The storyline is incoherent and just doesn't make sense at some points. It just seems like random stuff is happening to the characters. For example: they hike through the woods, they find a safe spot to chill out, Sam finds a motorcycle, he fixes it so that they can leave the safe spot, they get into some skirmish with the androids, the couple ends up getting separated, and then Georgia gets taken by a random good android who wants to help her??? 4. Bonus: I thought it was ridiculous how Sam gets challenged by some huge guy at the military camp to a fight so that he can get a trip to boston. Right before they start fighting, the scene changes, and then when the camera returns back to Sam. . . they're talking about how Sam beat the hell out that buff man??? And then Sam is like, "I'm sorry... I just wanted us to get a trip to Boston" LOL

I’m not Christian but I decided to watch it because it seemed interesting when I saw it in the YouTube section. The plot had so much potential but they screwed it up and the movie was bland. 1. The story is bland in comparison to how it was hyped in the introduction. Miles talks about “God uses extreme measures for extreme cases” which hypes the viewers up but nothing about his case is extreme. And the writers don't make it seem extreme either. I was expecting a man in the deepest depths of darkness - in the middle of a mess, to go through some incredible masterpiece story. Instead, he just loses his mother, whom the audience doesn't feel any connection to, and then his girlfriend randomly gets hit with a car. 2. I didn’t feel any type of connection with the characters. The writers barely reveal anything about Miles and his actual past yet they expect us to feel the gravity whenever he experiences some sort of tragedy. There’s little depth behind any of the characters. What did he actually do when he was involved in the gang-related stuff? Doesn’t Miles has more issues that he has to resolve from his past? There was chatter about him shooting guns out of a window. They expect us to feel the tragedies and calamities that Miles goes through when we barely know anything about the characters that he loses (i.e. his mom). They expect us to feel the brotherly connection that he had with his friends just because they say that they knew him for a long time? 3. Speaking about the show and tell, the writers make the characters explain who they are instead of actually demonstrating it through their actions. They push things in your face but their actions don't seem to align. They try to portray Miles as money-hungry by having the characters randomly bring it up in conversations. But Miles is never seen acting that way in the movie. Vanessa quotes Bible verses but we don’t get a visual demonstration of how religious she actually is and how her faith manifests in the world apart from dinner table prayers. In fact, she doesn’t act like a church-going person in some aspects as some of the other reviews pointed out. They missed the opportunity to have Vanessa refute the scientific miracles of the Qur'an argument when Miles talks about hearing it on TV because it actually is a flawed argument - Muslim scholars push back against it despite its popularity among the laypeople. 4. I think Miles should’ve faced tougher consequences. Throughout the entire movie, it’s almost like other people suffer for him. Mom dies, Vanessa gets hit with a car, and his friends go to prison. For example, they could've written it so that he loses all his material gains because of the sinful ways that made those gains or something.
