Boring. Frustrating. Infuriating.
I don't think LJP should be given this kind of budget for trying out his weird ideas. For me this movie ranks below Thor Ragnarok, for mishandling the emotions of the "target audience".
SPOILERS AHEAD
The first half slowly made me bored and irritated. The repeated looong walking shots that add nothing but runtime, the dialogues that only make you rather hope you get more loong walking shots instead of people speaking. I could sense the theater going from quiet, to restless murmur.
The point where Lord Mccauley started dancing I felt like walking out. From then on it was a battle for me to stay till the end. The fight sequence that followed really did not have my attention because of this.
The Arrakku song was the next jarring moment completely out of place and infuriating. The following yellow powder sequence lost me because of this. Even without that, most of the main people acted out of character and all their relationships were shown to be very fickle and brittle during that sequence.
And the ending, LJPs half cooked intellectual sci-fi vomit that only the most hardcore LJP fan who feels obligated to watch and praise everything touched by lord LJP will be able to digest and convert to hype.
My only feel good take away was Danish Sait's character, the scenes with him were quirky and added a little bit of something to the movie. And his accent actually added to the feel of the character. I'm eager to see more of Danish the actor now!
I'll surely rewatch at a later point, and when I do that I genuinely hope to find the right sliver of mental frame where this movie can be appreciated, or enjoyed even.
