A satire about the rising suicides in Japan in a comedic, "Parasite-esque" fashion.
The movie takes you through unexpected twists and turns, as a psychological thriller- with slight interpreting, the storyline is fresh and exciting- following the police departments failures and attempts at succeeding in finding the cause of the rising suicides.
The movie has references to spiritual aspects, Jpop, academia and peer influence.
Considered 'gore', the extravagant SFX will leave you hanging for more. It's almost outlandish but is used effectively in creating a moody atmosphere.
This film would be a good discussion point for older teens and their parents, opening the conversation about Internet safety, group mentality and creating your own image.
If you're a fan of thriller, comedy and don't mind a little blood than you would enjoy this film.
