3.5 stars rounded up to 4. I really enjoyed a lot about this film, but sadly the gratuitous violence was just too gratuitous in this Deadpool outing for me and the person I went with. I've seen the last two Deadpools and enjoyed them - the violence was also pretty bloody and chaotic, but it fit with Deadpool, so it was fine. But after leaving this film I genuinely felt ill - it was just so over the top, the scenes of bloody violence felt like they were at least 10minutes long. *Spoiler* The straight-up murder of Nicepool just wasn't funny; it being Ryan Reynolds took the edge off slightly, but it was honestly just awful. I know it's a film (duh!), but when there are genuinely horrific violent images from Gaza being live streamed on our phones, flippant violence like this is just sickening.
If it was toned down about 50% I would have enjoyed this film a lot more. Paradox was brilliant, and the main villain was cool.
Sigh.
