First time writing a review for literally anything, but I felt so strongly about this...well, here we are. If you care anything for the original story or for the brilliant mind of Madeleine L'engle you know this is a disgustingly sorry representation of the world she created. Check out L'engle's comments about the first movie adaptation Disney tried in 2002 (which followed MUCH more closely to the original plot but was still garbage) I can't imagine what she would say about this one. If you are going to make a movie based on a dead author's brilliant work, at least TRY to make it good--and if you can't (or just refuse to respect the source material because you want to try convince people yours is better) don't try it at all. I am so glad this movie has such terrible reviews, it deserves the worst of the worst. A brilliant woman created this story, and another woman destroyed it for personal gain. Can't wait until women start actually respecting other women's work.
