It is a shame that such an interesting idea (and important subject matter) was not explored by a more skilful and balanced author. This is a poorly written, poorly structured book. It trivialises complex issues which warrant more nuanced treatment. Its characters’ shallow and lazily contrived responses are unbalanced and unbelievable. The List may be enjoyed by readers comfortable settling for a superficial, woke-pandering treatment of a complex issue.
