Technical issues aside, and there are quite a lot of them. There are some decisions made that are baffling and sad. The games can be enjoyed but at this point you’ll enjoy them for the nostalgia of discovering a new region while feeling sad as you notice its many flaws and lament what we’ve had and could’ve had. The Pokemon following is unusable. Pkmn simply do not keep up, fun when one of the new ones requires the feature to evolve. They’ve cut all post game PVE set battles. Which is to say you’ll have nowhere to test competitive teams. Much less double battles as those have largely been removed. Only 4 in the game. They’ve removed set mode and once more forced EXP share without balancing it. There are virtually no interior areas, or caves, making the world feel oddly void of real locations as everything is simply outside. When pkmn fall asleep in battle they don’t even close their eyes anymore! Something we’ve has since black and white. Overall I can’t help but feel sad as I played these games and realized the little care that went into it
