Science Channel, Impossible Engineering, Kings of the Battlefield did a disservice to the Jeep. NO ONE IN THE UNIVERSE, except this program refers to the vehicle as a "Wilis". The original Jeep was developed by the Willys Overland Corporation and referred to as a GP (general purpose) vehicle. After the war the vehicle's nomenclature was: Truck Utility 1/4 Ton 4X4 and universally called the Jeep. I spent 22 in the Army and had many assigned to me for transportation. Beyond this, the Jeep was NOT the first incarnation of the transfer case. The transfer case for four wheel drive was invented in Europe around 1902. The US military used multi-wheel drive vehicles during WW1. The Jeep segment of the show should be deleted.
