I'm just some random teenager who loves LOVESS horror, has no idea about cinematic perspectives or the one from directors and movie stars but oh my goodness this was phenomenal!! i've seen tons of people with mixed opinions about this movie and how they don't personally see it as a horror, "it wasn't scary enough"! However, there are sooo many different genres of horror, this one had a way of getting under your skin, though it had gore and violence, i think the majority of it was made to be unsettling and a slow gradual storyline that i found worked perfectly for me!! Some scenes were full one with genuine alienated actions or things we as humans aren't familiar with, i think thats why we find horror so strange and scary! - because we don't see this really at all when we are out and about. Nicholas cage performed amazingly in this, as well as the lead actress oh my gosh!! This is all just opinionated and how i see it but I would soo recommend! Theres just a way it is creepy and cryptic, even from its first teaser trailer. And i ADORE the advertising how they make sure to hide Longleg's face. They make it so we feel as if we are looking at something and experiencing things we shouldn't! Its such a unique film and as someone who has seen tons of horror movies, psychological and all, it was really really phenomenal, a masterpiece! I am seeing it for the second time in cinemas this evening and i'm so so excited!
I hope you enjoy it too :) 5/5 <3
