I played it for a week and while I enjoyed it for the most part, for me there was a gaming breaking mechanic that eventually made me uninstall the game.
The game has 4 difficulties and recommends the 2nd difficulty for a "well rounded experience" since the last 2 are for "experienced." I played on the level that the game recommended and there were some challenges but eventually became too easy as the game progressed. I played on this difficulty for 2 runs and the second time around, it was a too easy run, so I thought for my 3rd run, I'd try the next difficulty.
The game reduced one heart for my character on the 3rd difficulty. The game usually reduces half heart when get hit so if my character makes 5 to 10 successful attacks before getting hit, minus one heart would mean a significant change in how many successful attacks I should make before getting a hit. The game also significantly nerfed my weapons as well as buffed npc, meaning a lot more successful attacks before getting hit, and also added a couple more to each square. In other words, the difficulty difference between the 2nd and 3rd was the difference of ten fold. It felt completely different playing from 2nd to 3rd difficulty.
The control was clunky. There were a lot of times I couldn't get the character to attack at a direction I wanted it to or sometimes it strangely ran into hit parameters. Npc and weapon behaviors were unpredictable or inconsistent. Sometimes my character got hit by running into a melee npc, sometimes it didn't, sometimes my attack didn't register despite a npc was in hitting parameter or I thought it was, and sometimes a npc got hit even I thought it was out of hitting parameter. Evading was messy. Attacking was messy. When there was a lot of that uncontrollable happens resulted in losing a red heart in one square, it really frustrated me to a point not to want to play it again.
After failing 15 times trying to get through a level without cheating, I decided to quit. It's never fun to play a game that makes me feel like an idiot. And there is absolutely no reason to revisit the repetitiveness of the 2nd difficulty, so I decided to uninstall.
