Each new Star Wars project is its own blank canvas on which the writers have an opportunity to either build upon existing lore or find new paths. The Acolyte attempts to blaze a new trail, while still respecting existing lore. While it's not perfect, it's a pretty fun and exciting look into the High Republic era.
The casting of the main characters was excellent. The visuals and fight scenes were incredible. There were cameos, easter eggs and showcasing of lore not previously found in live-action. The overall storyline and character arcs were compelling and leave you wanting more.
On the flip side, the dialog at times was less than stellar and pacing at times felt a little slower than what it should be for a 40 minute show. I loved the 'duality' concept of episodes and the season in general, but often times it impacted the overall flow and made it feel a little disjointed.
Overall, an excellent show. One of the better live-action shows they've produced. Even if you're not a hard-core Star Wars fan and just a sci-fi fan in general, I think you'll enjoy it.
