I'm watching it but I am bored. There is nothing compelling about it, not the plot, not the characters, but I do love all the snow and ice. Should say Jodie Foster is terrific and so is Kali Reis. Only one more episode to go so maybe it will turn itself around.

Very surprised by so many positive reviews. Maybe it's me. One word comes to mind about this series: juvenile, as though written for teenagers. Lacks complexity so not interesting or challenging to me. Acting is fine and Anson Mount is notable for his charisma.

Good movie until the final scenes when the pilot tells the hijacker to not do that (stand up) multiple times but doesn't tell him that there are probably snipers waiting for the opportunity to kill the him. Doesn't make sense to me. Then the swat team comes on board after they've killed the hijacker and one of them puts a gentle hand on the pilot which he angrily shrugs off. That's not a normal reaction despite his connection to the hijacker who held a shard of glass to his throat and threatened to kill him during the last five or ten minutes of the movie.

I've never seen a movie or series where the main character drops out of sight for so long. In his absence two children attempt to replace his compelling and charismatic presence and fail badly. Imagine The Matrix and half-way through Neo disappears. I love fantasy but for me this went off the rails with the disappearance of the Sandman.

This is a series with a hidden in plain site agenda. This is not so much about medicine as it is about race, the race of the doctor, the race of the patient, and ensuring that they're the same. Almost all of the patients are black or latino so only black or latino doctors treat them. There are two white doctors who treat only white patients. There is not one white female doctor or nurse. Might catch a glimpse so you know they are there but they are not participants in this social engineering program. I understand that one of the important goals, if not the only one, is to encourage poc to go into the medical profession because well, you know, it's really important that poc patients be treated by the same race as they are. Really? Is this what it has come to? Segregation in medicine and where else? Where is the diversity at Lennox Hill? I can't find it.

I watched this film last night but could not find the words to leave a review. This morning I woke up thinking about it and before I knew it I had tears in my eyes again. Like Craig, I fell in love with the beauty of the octopus and the forest. I wanted her to live forever and for Craig to continue to care for her and film her and share her life with us. The only consolation is that there are others just like her and perhaps one day Craig will find another. I know that octopuses are very intelligent. This reminds me of a short film on Twitter of a biologist working in a lab in New Zealand where they collect octopuses for short term study. They return them to the ocean when they are finished. So, they had a rather large one in a tank and every time this particular biologist walked by her tank, she would spray him with water. Not anyone else, just him. To be fair to the Octopus, he did seem rather grumpy.

Preposterous plot. Only saving grace is the British cast, with a few exceptions.

Compelling and tragic true story. Amy Ryan is the one to watch in this film and the actress playing her eldest daughter is a close second. I don't know why the US can't make more films like this or better yet, series, with actors & actresses that aren't drop dead gorgeous and know it, and intelligent, believable scripts. Less posing, more character.
