( kinda spoiler ) The hate u give talked about racism and discrimination. It had many powerful messages and lessons that we should learn about. It’s about a girl named Starr fighting for justice for his friend Khalil that had been shot by an officer due to a hairbrush that looked like “a gun.” This book made me realize that today’s society is cruel and full of hate. No person should experience this kind of situation because of the color of their skin. No person should be seen as a “threat” because of their skin. I realize that people could quickly judge you for your actions and your skin tone without even knowing your personality. It talks about different kinds of situations like police brutality, violence, racism and other oppression in America. By reading this book, it could help raise awareness to others who don’t know about anything that is happening in our world. I 110% recommend this book to anyone.
