I read several reviews prior to agreeing to watch this film. Not typically my style of movie preference, but, due to my fascination with the British Royals, I thought I'd give it a go. Joining me, was a Lady from Grimsby, England. I sat for about 30/40 minutes, wondering when this movie would pick up. For me, it never did. I'm American, andI remember Princes Diana as being The People's Princess; kind, beautiful & loving. But this movie shows her rude,, detached & mentality unstabe; I didn't agree with the portrayal. Additionally, the continual melodic music in the background, drove me nuts. I watch approximately 1 movie every two weeks; it has been like a hobby for me. That being said, I rarely want to walk out of one; this one, I was close, but, for the sake of the Brit next to me, I stayed. Personally, I loathed it. The actress playing Diana; I watched Will Smith play Mohammed Ali; going in, didn't think it would work...by the end of the movie, Will Smith WAS Ali; I believed it. This gal however, was a bad choice. Good for Twilight, bad for Diana. I did enjoy the nostalgic look back on Diana's outfits. Additionally, I was intrigued by the lavish lifestyle of the Royals. Best part of the movie for me; the last two minutes of the film when Diana's & kids, are seen signing & driving off in her Porches, listening to an awesome, upbeat song, ( best music of the entire movie) while speeding past her Scarecrow, dressed anew. Other reviewers raved...perhaps I'm just wired different. Definitely would rate this a 2 out of 10. The Brit, she gave it a thumbs down as well. However, being a Royals loyalists, she did say she was taken back to a time when she resided in country; grand memories. I diffenitly would NOT recommend this film.
