The animation was gorgeous. I loved the star a lot . But there was a lot I didn't like as well. First off the references weren't really subtle they were kinda in your face every other minute. The plot was really uhh weird ? Like it had a good strong start and then kinda just did a 180 that felt a little forced. There also really wasn't much character development as far as the main character. The biggest atrocity was the music. Normally Disney kills it with the music numbers but the songs in this movie left MUCH to be desired. I normally don't agree with the critics on a lot cause Turning Red and Elemental SLAPPED but they were right on the money with their opinions on this movie 😭 I WISH it could have been better.

People are coming for this movie way too much. I promise you the biggest reason people love to hate this movie is the fact they switched up the animation. The animation was just fine and beautiful honestly. As far as the story there was a lot of "okay what exactly is going on? " but I honestly liked the movie a lot for that aspect.it wasn't hard to follow there was just a lot of mystery surrounding the mother and the witches! It stayed true to the Ghibli formula as far as magic and wonder! I rewatch this movie quite a bit and it really sucks that this studio doesn't do sequels cause this is one that really NEEDS one 🖤
