Saw the first two episodes and was really disappointed. For any show set in the future where technological advancements have made it possible for a dome to be mounted out of nowhere inside a residence or for a television to be appear wherever the viewer wants, the set design and budget allocation seems very uneven. The cars and other vehicles being driven in 2049 are models being driven now (Brezza is shown on the roads in episode 2 along with a Mahindra pick up truck). The world is not believable. When they possess a technology which can tell if a kid is pure ( both parents from the same religion) or mixed ( parents from different religions) by just scanning its fingers but people still drive around in brezza and ambassador cars makes it hard to invest in the world the show is trying to portray.
The acting doesn’t help too. All in all feels like a failed attempt at a dystopian drama made with no money and expected to stand apart just on the name of its famed director( first two episodes by Deepa Mehta).
Give it a pass and instead watch bodygaurd.
