The author uses broad generalizations and fictitious conversations between central characters in this work of nonfiction. Snarky commentary to make characters unlikable is commonplace along with a false narrative regarding competition and rivalries between Norman Mailer and Kurt Vonnegut. Its a shallow book provoking frequent eye rolls over silly conversations between real people that never occurred. Dont bother.
