A forgettable film…quite a disappointment. I read the novel on Widow Clicquot some years ago and was looking forward to a film comparable to this biography on the visionary young widow, Barbe-Nicole Clicquot Ponsardin, who built a champagne empire through daring and determined entrepreneurship. But the film failed in every way to capture the passion & business savvy of this incredible woman and her place in champagne history. My suggestion is to read the book!
