The last 2 seasons of Bosch were stale and tired. Bosch:Legacy brushes off all the cobwebs and returns to the gritty, relentless origins that make the books so much fun. Pared down storylines that focus on the 3 main characters and push forward at a brisk pace plus Bosch himself is finding his way with no back-up, no safety net although some familiar faces from the original series make brief and welcome appearances. Madeleine Lintz’s acting has not improved a single bit since Day 1 of her first episode but her on-screen affection for her father seems genuine and she foregoes any glamour or makeup for her role as a rookie cop which is admirable. The police procedural is accurate for the most part and the detective elements of well-worn and tireless attention to detail are welcome. Not a perfect series but a big improvement over the last couple of seasons of Bosch and a lot of fun to binge.
