This Godzilla movie has great character development, special effects, and a compelling story. It has the right kind of drama with the perfect balance of action. This Godzilla isn't even the main character and he definitely isn't an anti-hero. He's the enemy, and you'll probably want him to die. This movie, made at a fraction of the cost of many recent Hollywood blockbusters, is a truly refreshing gem in this film genre. The cinematography and framing are beautiful. The dialogue, smart and meaningful. If you see this movie, try to align your mindset with the Japanese; the movie helps you in this endeavor. By doing so, the movie becomes intoxicatingly complex with emotion, tension, and resolution.
