I had mixed feelings about watching the movie when it hit theaters, and decided to wait. At the time, my 2yr old was recently diagnosed with a rare genetic condition. This has led me on a unique and painful journey of my own. Coming across this film by accident recently, I let curiosity take over and watched it. I did not expect to be gutted by the story like I was. I was rendered helpless, sobbing and feeling the loss portrayed as if it was my own. As a Christian, I did have to look past the portrayal of God (Papa) and the Holy Spirit as a woman, but once I worked past that initial objection I found that there were truths to be received in the film and I believe God used it to help me on my own journey.
