I for one had no idea of this woman's story nor do I remember adding it to my audible library; but I did at some point. I elected to give it a shot: first I thought it was slow and too monotone for me and yet I have a hard time giving up on a book once I have started it, so I hung on long enough to get intrigued and decided I would see it through and I am glad I did. I do recommend this book, especially to young women. And BOY was I in for a surprise! But more so then that, (Not that I was not shocked, having never heard about this) was what resonated with me, for so many of us have been through such betrayal, heart wrenching heartache and stunned by people we love and trust is that there is such a common thread with women turning on themselves for the sake of hope and promises. Yet while our intuitions are screaming at us as if we have gone deaf in all ways possible. Why is that? After finishing this book tonight I said to my 36 year old daughter, every young woman should read this to really understand how utterly important it is to hear yourself first beyond anything anyone else could possible say to you. The author makes this point clear with grace. She certainly wrote her story in a way that other's can learn from what she has to say by her experiences. She is a victorious woman, she triumphed over what many would have found to be impossible. She hears herself now...I get it. Good lessons, good book, and a real shock, don't look up anything first, just read it.
