Can't comprehend that these books are given higher reviews. The author tries too hard; too verbose with immature descriptions of characters and situations. I attempted to complete the book but eventually decided to cease reading as I couldn't tolerate the poor quality of the writing. Pity, as the plot seemed interesting. Possibly the contrast with writers like John Sandford whom I had just read, contributed to my intolerance.
