Movie scenes are thrilling and graphic violence makes it more cryptic however the chemitry of father son bond is quite missing and beyond understanding as it fails to make sense in a way as no child is committed to the love and affection of his father despite father being inattentive and callous to his growing up son . The film is bogged down by senseless violence and main protagonist in Bobby Deol is wasted as he's given screen time of mere 10 minutes. Plus point is Ranbir Kapoor's acting who brings his A game and females are treated as the narrative in movie Animal suggests " archiac" who are meant to breed children cook meals and look after families of alpha males . The character played by Mandhana is both susceptible and strong, other females in movie are shown little weightage as well such as his sister. Overall movie is a feast for action lovers who deny to live in harsh realities and fantasize about sick revenge tales.

After watching this movie, I'm obliged to say Richard Linklater is one of the most talented directors of our generation. He's a student of philosophy and makes us to be the same. Through this movie he's asking the questions which can arouse the time immemorial question of existentialism and materialism/realism. Those who have studied philosophy will be amazed to see the indepth analytical n critical thinking of Linklater. I was really impressed with his take on subject. For those who don't know what's going on, never mind it's for the other kind the intellectual ones

Besides the great acting potential exhibited by Hoffman and Phoenix along with great filmography of PTA on certain scenes, the film fails to connect. The loophole in climax is apparently clear and if you watch it carefully you can understand that Freddie despite being alcoholic is above "The Master" in his pursuits of doing nothing with his life and accepted life as it is, while "The Master" is yet to determine his " Cause"
