OK... There's a lot of GREAT actors in this movie but can't mention them all as it would just be a cast list in the end... so! I was so excited to see this movie because it was going to be a musical & was not dissapointed. The casting of Timothee Chalamet was clever, his humour & childlike qualities really worked, loved the chemistry with him & Calah Lane. I knew when I left the cinema that I am gonna watch this again because I left smileling. I need to make 1 point though, it feels like Mary Poppins Returns but with Wonka... not sure why? Could be the actors? Really not sure.. but I will be there for the DVD release to watch it again & again 🤣

I loved this movie. Drama, great story & beautifully acted, the cinematic photography was top notch! For a start I couldn't see Adam Driver in the movie... I saw Ferrari, and as for Penelope Cruz, I think she could read a telephone book and make it entertaining. I left this (long) movie exhausted but with a bit of a thrill... so as I got into MY Ferrari (The London bus 😏) I knew more about the great man and his story, can't wait to watch this again.

Before I bore you with my review, please beaware i am a HUGE musical fan 😎 So my understanding is The Color Purple (2023) is a film version of the Broadway musical based on the Outstanding movie. The original movie was breathtakingly acted but as I watched this movie I sadly couldn't help but make comparisons between the 2. If I had to choose I (personally) would watch the original again. Now that I've said that... This is a good overall movie and the acting was good, I felt emotional at parts but I didn't leave feeling the WOW factor. Is it worth your money? Yes, performances by all are good. I'll certainly buy the DVD when it comes out! & suspect I'll enjoy it more.... Now I'm off to the original.
