Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft is a frustrating miss for fans of the franchise. Not only does it rely on tired tropes—another villain seeking relics to end the world—but it also overdoes the supernatural elements, which just feel lazy. Worse, the animation is subpar. For a show about an iconic adventurer, you'd expect more exciting visuals and better-crafted action scenes, but what we get is far from impressive.
Another issue is the forced attempt to inject modern “diversity and inclusion” themes. While representation is important, the execution here feels unnatural and tokenistic, detracting from the story rather than adding value. It seems shoehorned in, more like a box to tick than a meaningful addition.
