I’ll try not to give away too much, but hats off to Cillian Murphy playing such a tough character who in real life was quite quirky and emotionless on the surface.
Am I to understand that Christopher Nolan wrote this? The dialogue is unbearable. The entire movie revolves around short sentences and quick retorts enough to drive you crazy. Because of it, there is no emotional connection between the women and oppenheimer, most colleagues with each other, and pretty much everything else. I found many of the extra performances either irritating or mediocre. Emily Blunt is wasted.
In all fairness, Nolan attempted to include way too much and by doing so (using flashbacks) it becomes even more detached.
The visuals from New Mexico are gorgeous and well done.
