this is the first time that such an acclaimed movie, by regular people and critics, completely is so off the mark from reality. i watch EVERYTHING that gets this kind of rave review but i guess bots are really taking over the internet this time or something. this movie is SO MID that's it's borderline disrespectful to the audience. the acting is unbelievably bad especially from the main character. the CGI is OK. great at times, terrible in others. lots of continuity errors. lots of abandoned story elements/plot points. really odd pacing. it's fast but it doesn't feel like it deserves to be fast. if the entire movie was similar in structure and effects to the tug boat vs godzilla scene, it would have warranted all the attention. THAT was so well executed. but my god the rest of it is so awful in too many ways to fit into a review that nobody is going to read anyway watch this movie if you have it on a streaming service for free. i would not pay them to reward this kind of quality being produced in the future. take notes from shin godzilla because THAT was actually an interesting take on godzilla/monster movies. even that wasn't perfect but it makes minus one look like a high budget student project
