Tom Nichols showed himself to be one of the ignorant experts he admonishes in his book. Lay people must learn to read the source material, not rely on experts like Tom. Tom would have done well to research outside his bias. This book is irrelevant only two years later because this "expert" did not do his research. And his hubris is laughable. While there are some interesting and compelling perspectives, mostly Tom advises we "leave it to the experts" like him because lay people are too stupid to understand. Tom, this book is good for growing mushrooms and starting fires, but not for reading. The more people who read it, the dumber we will become, collectively.
