Don’t waste your time unless you’re one of the few that are a fan of the last season of GOT. It’s essentially the same garbage. Interesting at first, then falls apart. It’s almost as if he builds a story then says how can I write this, not in a way that might make sense, but just to piss off the most people. He also gets lazy and there’s a lot of unoriginal, repetition. I bet there’s mention of at least 10 different women that die from childbirth. Not to mention the whole book is weirdly written as a “historical account” where numerous times it says something to the affect of “accounts differ, we can’t be certain what really happened”. I mean really, I’m reading a fictional book. I don’t know why I continue to waste time on George RR after his abandonment of GOT, which I presume is due to the intense backlash of HIS similarly awful ending. I assure you he didn’t change though, this is pretty much the same story. Lesson learned. There’s better authors/shows out there. I’m done with RR and have no plans of continuing to watch House of Dragons now that I know the horrible script it’s following
