very addictive, bingeable show. I really like Mike Flanagan's direction and since Hill House I have been consuming his media bit by bit (Hill House to me was masterfully done). This show was chilling, ridiculous, dark, with just the right amount of hope - the perfect light at the end of a dark damp tunnel - towards the end, when the viewer needs it the most. I would recommend to all horror, thrill enjoyers. It wasn't jump scare scary but creepy from a human psychological perspective.
I also enjoyed reading and learning more about Edgar Allan Poe because of this series. The beginning poem's lines from "For Annie" struck me in the heart.
