I'm going to address the imdb rating of 6.8 here. When vietnam vets returned to the US, they were spit on. The veterans of past wars, "real wars", looked down on these vets. These men were called upon and acted with the same Valor displayed in any war of any time. No colonel, major, captain, lieutenant, Sargeant, or private had the power to wave the white flag and send the forces home. Blame the leaders. This film is an objective view of everything humanity has to offer. Imo it's better than saving private ryan (fictional), we were soldiers (outcome never in doubt), and full metal jacket (fictional abstraction), all being top notch movies. Don't blame this story for the moral ambiguity of the war itself.

Yes it has bugs, but it's a code behemoth. Imagine living in pubg but you have to do everything but urinate and defacate (thank god). I've never experienced such an immersive game... it truly is a human experiment. If I could give some advice to the first week player.... walk don't run... conserve your energy... stay dry... take small bites... FARM... once you get over the hump and have a little supply of food you can travel further and faster... food is FUEL... and enjoy the scenery! Sometimes you'll catch things you wouldn't otherwise! And example of how this game works... Two stones make a stone knife> Stone knife kills chicken and fillets> Stone knife cuts up bushes, produces logs, short sticks and long sticks> Stone knife cuts bark off tree> Bark combined with short stick produces fire starting drill> Logs and sticks make fireplace> Chicken goes on Long stick to cook> Don't forget to rinse your hands in a stream before you feed the chicken to yourself or you'll get salmonella.> If you drink the water without treating it with chlorine you will get cholera (most of the time)> If you get cholera take the tetra pills found in hospitals and ERs> See how the game plays out?
