The show was a complete mess. The first thought after watching Ep1 was the story settings had ok potentials. The alien contact and seeking out truth is not a new story but there are many points to fill in the gap from the start to the end. So I was positive in the beginning. But as show goes on, it was quite boring to me. Few reasons are: absurd emotional clashes, sex scenes and actions while in space. I actually schemed through video and only watch when it seemed important for the storyline. 1. The emotional clashes. I saw too many emotional clashes between characters than the real problem from the space. I have to ask whether Salvare was on a most important mission or just a space ship carrying civilians. If they were on some important mission, say making first contact with alien and figure out how to deal with them, the crew and the AI seems VERY incompetent for that. Unprofessional, unstable mental status, very weak to small stress... To me, Salvare was just a civilian ship(more like a school field trip bus) with kids onboard and fighting for their emotion rather than solving the real problem. 2. sex scenes. I get what Netflix want to show numbers of current social issues: LGBTQ and whatever interesting for them. But at least keep in-line with the big story. Unless the crew are like a middle/high-school kids being curious on sex or sex addicts, numbers of sex scenes didn't make much sense to me.. This was the main factor that I scheme through the later half of the whole series. 3. strange actions. Related to unprofessional crew, why on earth the crew can't think few steps ahead, or even one step ahead? One man mutinied because his words didn't convince the captain of the ship, two idiots opening a visor because there is 19% oxygen on atmosphere of unknown planet. One idiot sampling the soil and not cautious enough with it. Growing an alien plant inside the ship for smoking..... These and many others didn't allow me to fully dive into the story and enjoy. If the season 2 comes out with the problems of season 1, I won't invest my time for it.
