I wish Edna would have been eaten by the bear instead of their poor helpless dog which was tied up on a chain! Anyone who would subject an animal to being eaten alive by a bear or endanger a young child who wasn't meant to exist in the freezing tundra without access to medical care or education is simply selfish. Because they selfishly choose to live in the middle of nowhere, others have suffered at their hand. You think after losing their own daughter and a beloved pet they would wise up and GTFO there, but nope, still out there endangering others and waiting to die. I gave 2 stars because it was slightly easier to relate to the other people and families followed by the show and although they had dogs with them for protection as well, the other dogs were treated more humanely and given more freedom to get away from predators instead of being tied up like a piece of bait....but they seriously need to drop the wreckless Korth couple from this show!!!!

Interesting look at farming in Europe….. perhaps it’s the translation, but the characters seem to lack most emotion. I was admittedly so excited to watch this, but the way the fancy farm owner/ex-business man more or less forced his new prospective employee to give up her dog in the beginning in order to move to the farm, (especially knowing how short an animal’s life is), well that just broke my heart! Well cared for by another wonderful person or not, I really couldn’t shake that from my brain throughout the rest of the episode. I watched a few of the episodes in total but lost interest fairly quickly. I could just never imagine giving up my best friend for ANY amount of money or opportunity, even if it was for only a year; a true soul mate would never ask or expect me to commit such a betrayal. Not to sound conceited, but an owner is a dog’s entire world, how could anyone willingly walk away from a pet that so solely depends on them?! :(
