My husband and I loved it. Grant you it was a bit slow in the beginning then it finally picked up pace, more characters were introduced, the story developed. The music was terrific. I even needed tissues to dry the tears brought on by Jennifer Hudson's song Memory....it was so moving, twice! I, too, have had cats for 50 years and have loved and bonded with them all. So seeing this movie was most moving, magical and delightful. Judy Dench tied it all together in her last statements in the movie. Any one who gave this a bad review....shame on you. This was a great performance by all!! And if you ever owned a cat.....you could relate!! Cats are not Dogs ;-)
