I watched the movie because I loved the books as a teenager, as an adaptation it's quite bad. They changed a lot of things and it misses the whacky humor the book has. Even if I look at it as an independent movie without the book it's not good. The characters lack in development and the story seems rushed and there are so many things that just don't make sense. Them using chloroform to fall asleep or knocking each other out doesn't make sense at all. I'm ok with the casting of the characters, hated the adaptation of characters like Florence and Persephone. The other characters lacked just in depth. I liked the bilingual approach, but I don't really recommend to watch it.
