ok so unpopular opinion, this game didn't age well. *internet explodes* Don't hate me but it, however good for its time it was, is nothing compared to modern 3D platformers. Or 2D platformers even. Because if you strip away nostalgia bias, it was actually kind of a mess. glitches, quirks, and physics fails are plentiful. And I just think being the first 3D platformer isn't enough to warrant all the credit it receives.

oh boy, this thing is a mess. I didn't like 64 very much but this I just don't like, Period. The controls are ok by themselves, but Mario himself is, kind of trash, without F.L.U.D.D the platforming is terrible. By far the worst 3D Mario game and just not that fun.

I don't need to go into a long-winded review of this game, so I'm keeping it simple, like this game. Basically, if you like geometry dash you probably gonna like this. If you are bad at rhyme games or like when a game has a complex story and stunning visuals, you are probably not gonna like this game. It's as simple as that.

I personally, love this game. It has an amazing story, distinct areas, challenging enemies, and amazing boss battles. The soundtrack is also really amazing, considering it was made by like one guy. However, it is not for everyone. It has an incredibly slow start, and it requires you to push through it to enjoy the game, you will most likely only start to really enjoy it once you get the dash. It is also, and I can't stress this enough, HARD. Do not play if you struggle with 2D platforming and combat. But if you enjoy platformers, and have skill, then you will most likely love this game. So overall: Pros: Amazing story Distinct areas Challenging combat Great music (it's only 15 bucks for like 50 hrs of gameplay) Cons: Hard for noobs Confusing map Slow start

I get the general concept, I guess it's just, very inelegant. I find it hard to enjoy most of the time. The first few hours are fun but, after that, it just spikes in difficulty a little too much. I just find it very sloppy for a Nintendo game and, I just didn't like it.

I'm just gonna say it if your reading this you probably aren't gonna get this game if you haven't already, just know that it is the best 3D Mario game ever, and unlike 64, Sunshine, and Galaxy, there are no random BS mechanics that seem to only exist to annoy you. 10/10
