I am older and grew up in the good old days of public television, where you could flip to different channels and see different games. Yes, commercials have always been a part of NFL football games, but the NFL Prime on Amazon is primarily commercials, with some very inappropriate commercials. I was trying to watch football with my children when a man came on and started shaving his pubic area. My kids shouldn't have to see that; I shouldn't have to see that.
On top of that, the four hosts are not what I grew up with. I don't understand what they are going for with Thursday night football, but I really can't stand to listen to the hosts talk. I know we live in a secular world, but I don't want my kids to model their behavior or language. If football can't just be about football, my children will not be able to watch it.
We are a Christian family with Christian values. We expect high morals and ethics from anything we watch or read as a family. It has come to the point that we have obliterated television from our home and have completely removed the NFL from our home. Amazon may not be as much to blame, but they choose who gets to air commercials on their programs and should have a higher screening standard. I don't want to see men or women shaving their pubic area. I disapprove of cussing; I disapprove of sexual influence on myself or my children.
Remember the old days when people behaved appropriately, and what you did in the bedroom stayed in the bedroom. Bring back higher standards of morals and ethics. Bring back family programming.
