In spite of being totally predictable from the jump, The Invitation was so well acted and so visually beautiful that I enjoyed it from start to finish.
Evie (Nathalie Emmanuel) is a shining star who really made the whole movie. She's lonely and desperate for connection to a family, but never once compromises who she is, where she came from, or makes any cringey attempts to pretend to be one of them. Evie is the movie, with the others all fantastic supporting characters.
