Might adjust this rating as I finish the book, but the writing is pretty bad. The author reiterates the same statement 3-4 times within the same two paragraphs and it is really clunky moving from scene to scene. It really feels like those in the armed force might get a kick out of it with how it talks about its military aspects, but ultimately, it's falling flat on good writing. The idea is interesting so far, but really tough to get through. I feel like one of the guys I went to high school with is recounting what basic training was like (but he was really only talking about the ROTC group he was in over the summer).
