Land of Bad would be a run-of-the-mill action movie if not for the acting of Russell Crowe and a script that’s not just about a full scale weaponry shootout.
The action keeps you on the edge of your seat alright but I most enjoyed the contrast with Reaper, the Russell Crowe character, having to navigate a shopping list in a huge supermarket after being taken off his drone shift. It puts the question; how do people deal with killing in such a deadly way and cope with their personal life. The answer - they lock it away in a corner of their mind once they are off the job. Great movie. Clever script that asks questions about modern warfare.
