It’s more than a little ironic that I’m reviewing a book in 2024 that I read in the early ‘70s.
It was the thickest book I had read and pretty dense for a young teen but the story was so riveting that it took me less than a week to read it, largely by flashlight after I was supposed to be asleep.
Please don’t take this to mean that it is written on the elementary school level as I was a somewhat precocious child from at least the third grade forward reading “War and Peace” during the same time period.
A warning: If you’re for some reason offended by Christian values this is not a book for you, but from an anthropological viewpoint and an example of how mankind can can lift itself, or be lifted above itself this is a must read.
